Production goes off with a bang!

The feedback around our production has been overwhelmingly positive. This has proven to be one of the most impactful activities we have done in recent years with a school-wide positive impact on students, staff and families. For those who were able to secure tickets they had an experience that was full of energy, good fun and some great performances.

The teaching team of Joel and Jocelyn are to be congratulated for going above and beyond to produce a production of extremely high professionalism, especially since we were starting from scratch in this area. Many staff contributed time and energy behind the scenes to make sure this production was high class, thank you all!

There was a lot we learned as a school and we now start planning for what our next production may look like. Watch this space as we will be making some decisions shortly about how we can repeat this success in the future!

Exams

Our Grade 10 students have spent the last two weeks engaged with a formal exam process in their Australian Curriculum learning areas. Students had the option of nominating for a 1 or 2 hour exam with large numbers choosing the 2 hour version. I saw students engaged and having a red-hot-go during these sessions. A huge thank you to the Grade 10 team who wrote, coordinated and marked the exams. These opportunities are a positive lead-in to Year 11 exams many will experience next year. I saw significant evidence of detailed preparation from many of our students who took this opportunity very seriously and who strived to put their best foot forward for all their exams! Well done to all students and staff who were engaged in this work, great effort.

Student Leadership Board 2026

I have had the pleasure of working with our prospective SLB students over the last week as they prepared for their speeches in front of our students. I was extremely impressed by the mature, organised approach to this challenge, the way they engaged with the interview process and the mature calmness during their speeches. We are going to have another outstanding SLB in 2026 and I look forward to once again working closely with them in their chosen portfolios next year. Well done to all candidates! You have already created a positive legacy for your time here at Queechy through the way you have engaged with this process.
