In Grade 7 HaSS, students have worked through a Unit on Place and Liveability. They have developed their understanding of how to read a map, identify different countries and cities and the factors that make a place liveable. Students have started to identify different push and pull factors – reasons that draw people to live in a particular place (eg employment, security, nice weather) or push them away (high cost of living, pollution, crime). Students are now commencing a unit on Water and will look at the Water Cycle, the Nile River in Egypt and understanding the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources.
